Sponge Bob Bob???

The babies have a new favorite TV show, or at least a new favorite song. "OHHHHHHHH...who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! Absorbent and yellow and porous is he...SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!" See, they have me doing it now. Whenever the babies hear the seagulls chirp at the opening credits, the stop in their tracks and whip around, eyes glued to the TV. They start snapping their fingers (Aspie waves her hand above her head and Jazzy crosses and uncrosses her middle and index fingers). They dance and sing, although the only words we can comprehend are SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! Aspie calls him Sponge Bob Bob and gets upset when her plushy Sponge Bob (thanks Bampa) is not in the carseat with her. Jazzy likes to "spray" Patrick's hair with "hairspray" before school. She makes the spray sound and waves the can over his hair (or at least where his hair would be if he had any). Move over Wonder Pets...there's a new Sponge in town!

Aspie Lets Go of the Furniture

Aspyn took off walking by herself on August 1. Prior to this day she has been a little nervous and was always hanging on to the furniture. While grandma and great-grandma were tending her, she just suddenly took off... knowing her she was in search of snacks. She even pushed their hands away when they tried to help her as though she were offended by the offer (after all, she'd been walking for a whole 3 minutes...that kid already has quite an attitude). She is so little and has such tiny feet that it is funny to see her teetering and zigzagging all over the room like she's been drinking juice that's sat out on the counter a little too long. She loses her balance and tries to compensate by leaning forward and "running" which usually results in her bouncing of the front of the couch and landing on her back because she is going too fast to stop herself. Good thing kids are resilient. Jazzy is not far behind her...just needs a bit more confidence boost.
